::: support KIVA.org :::
at KIVA.ORG, anyone can help change a life with as little as US$25
…and you’ll even get your money back!! it’s basically a loan to the less priviledged.
thanks to yahoo answers, i came to know about kiva.org while looking through the haystack of answers to things related to investing. if there’s anything out there that can effectively help reduce world poverty, microfinancing is IT.
i’ve lent some to Julia Pilaloa of Ecuador (who runs a food stall), Duch Phally of Cambodia (wife of a carpenter who is trying to help her husband’s business), and Umoru Bundu of Seirra Leone (who runs a palm oil distribution business). as 25th november 2007, all of them have already started to repay back their loans.
being able to give is a blessing. in the spirit of philanthropy, i’ve decided to support kiva.org in their activities as much as i can. as of 25th november 2007, i’m happy to say that i’ve helped raise some awareness with my blog, and assisted them in getting US$850 in lending funds. it’s not much, but for the less priviledged, every dollar counts.
join the movement… help eradicate poverty.
