this blog is not dead! :O)

wow… this must be the longest sabatical in the entire 25 months since this blog made it’s first appearance on 31st july 2007!  almost 25 months… and i’m glad that readers are still finding the dated material useful in some way… especially the “VPS Guide for MT4″ :O)

googling “average lifespan of a blog” returned approximately 100 days or just over 3 months… so i guess i’m still surviving despite the very irregular updates :O) …nonetheless, the number of subscribers to the mailing list keeps growing… although at a much slower rate these days.

just a brief on what’s been happening.

since early this year, i’ve started working on some EA development projects with a couple of hand-picked traders and EA developers.  the process has been slow (due to many factors) but things are chugging along and making slow but steady progress.  however, one of the projects stalled due to the unavailability of one of the developers… a pity because he was probably one of the best in Singapore in my opinion.

besides making EAs, i have, for some unknown reason, been sent a couple of EAs to test and review over the last 2 weeks.  one is not trading yet, and the other is pipping away… trading in an interesting way that has caught my attention.  both of them are commercial products (or ultimately will become one)… so i’m not going to mention their names (and give them free publicity) without a proper test and review.  will talk more about the EAs when i’ve gathered more data/trades to make an analysis.

besides EAs, a lot more have happened after the webinar on 27th april.  some good and some not so good.  but on the whole, i would say that the months ahead are going to be exciting to say the least, for both myself and readers of this blog as well.  more updates about this later (it won’t be months this time or sure :O)

take care and good trading!!

    Several Comments.

    1) English Grammar.
The first letter in any sentence is always UPPER Case
The first person personal pronoun "I" is ALWAYS Upper Case.

    2) Steinitz MTF HAS EA

I have owned and read MANY comments about this EA which Steinitz DID NOT WRITE HIMSELF. It was written by Mr.Pip or someone else. I bought and tried this EA on demo (thank God). It is really a disaster!!!.

I have been programming my own EAs for several years and I know the characteristics of a profitable EA. If there are huge stops or NO stops any EA will display a nice graph on backtest; perfect for suckers. That's what Steinitz's EA does. Lord help you if you ever hit a stop, it will blow your account, live or demo it does not matter. Don Steinitz is not a trader, he is a GAMBLER and entered the Forex scene to make easy money off suckers. And ther are many of them on the web. He called me once to ask me whether an indi REPAINTED or not. He is not conversant with MT4 and indicators in general.

Steinitz's algorithm is basically flawed. There is only one valid time frame: the minute TF. ALL other TFs are a mathematical calculation using the one min TF. That is why Bollinger's Bands and other indi's look the same on any TF. Using one TF to make a decision about another is like having 3 unknowns but one equation. You cannot solve for 3 unknowns with one equation its impossible. You MUST have 3 INDEPENDENT EQUATIONS.

Our most important unknowns are PRICE AND TIME, the other is VOLUME but we are not usually concerned with volume. So to solve the basic unknowns of price & time we need 2 independent equations of which TF is ONLY ONE!!! The other could be any other indi NOT INVOLVING TF e.g volume or maybe there is some other way but it cannot be "another" TF. Any EA based on TFs only must fail, and Steinitzs' EA does just that.

I paid $50 for the bunch of garbage and NEVER got a refund. He does NOT give refunds, he's a gambler and considers everyones good nature as more money in the bank for him.

Consider this, if you have an EA that was "no loss" as he claims, would you sell it? Why not trade with it and become scandalously RICH. No: he peddles this garbage with about 2000 external Params that no one in 1000 lifetimes can optimize to get it "right"... So this is a scam from day one and Steinitz should be ASHAMED of himself for inflicting such MISERY on unsuspecting users in Forex.

He entered his EA in the WW Competition in 2007 and LOST a bundle (2000) in CAPITAL. Need I say more?

DO NOT BUY NAD DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME TESTING THIS GARBAGE.

All joking aside, the newest Expert advisor coming out is one hot scalper that works wonders on most charts. Its called 4xgreed they have posted the results at http://4xgreed.com/index.html?do=results and they are remarkable.

On the site you can even log in and watch the robot conduct trades. Really impresssive.

Just wondering what happened with the hybrid EA with trader oversight. Interesting concept, but did it work. I am presently using a signal system that automatically places the order too soon to tell the results.
  • About time! :) Looking forward to some more reading.
