just a quick one to keep everyone updated on what’s happening or what’s keeping me pretty busy these days…

in mid-March 2009, a reader of this blog introduced me to a fine gentleman who is currently based out of Hong Kong, the “financial hub” of the eastern world… the other one being sunny Singapore :O)

pioneering forex trade automation back in 2001, the company that he co-founded with a few other partners brought a new way of trading to the world.  actually, that’s about the same time MetaQuotes Software Corp released their first trading platform that allowed automation.

A Different Approach to Automated Forex Trading

it’s obvious now that MetaTrader is clearly the industry’s leader,  but these 2 companies took different routes.  MetaQuotes conquered the retail market, but this company went for the institutions and fund houses.  it’s only recently that they started offering their services to retail traders like you and me.

instead of providing blackbox EAs or the platform for them, this company focused on harnessing the benefits and power of algorithmic trading, and backing it up with professional traders and expert system developers, 24hrs a day. it’s like a hybrid between EAs and Managed Accounts.

i’ve spoken to him a few times already and have also attended one of his very informative webinars.  that said, i am pleased to announce that i’ve managed to book a time slot with him and will be running an exclusive webinar just for my blog members on 27th April 2009.

    I guess like many others I'm late to your webinar and I would really love to see a recorded version of it if possible. If not, it would be really really great if you could record any future webinars (if you plan to conduct any)... I'm quite interested in a subject of automated trading and it would be so cool to gain some insider view into what others are doing...

    I noticed you've withdrawn all your funds from IBFX. May I know which broker are you planning to move it to?
    I'm also planning to move my account to non-US broker. I'm not sure if Alpari-UK is good. I read some good reviews and some bad reviews. Mostly their problems were constant re-quotes and customer services.

    Your insight is truly appreciated.

    Webinar and Jonny,

    I could sense you were disappointed with AetherFX's webinar.. However, I had the opportunity to attend CK's workshop before and I can vouch that CK won't divulge our email addresses just for a couple of bucks..
    Still, it would be good if CK can provide a recording or summary for the rest of us who missed the webinar, so we can judge the EA for ourselves..

    Ya really Webinar. Now, with hedging being disallowed by NFA for US brokers and traders, PIPforia will be totally unprofitable if it was profitable in the first place. So he couldn't cut it as a trader so he goes in to the business of promoting webinars selling an EA that will no longer work for 90%+ of traders in this world?

    @Hyde, @Andrej, you haven't missed much... just standard advertisement/promotion. Ckowyong sold our email addresses. I guess he gets a percentage of their profit.

    Looks like I couldn't attend the webinar (forgot that it was at 4am...), but seeing the aetherfx website, I'm not sure I missed anything important... was it really interesting/did you learn anything? It sure looks like a standard advertisement/promotion to me.

    Ck has finally figured it out. The simplest way to earn money in FX market is to sell or promote EAs or managed accounts. Webinar was a great step in that direction. Yey, way to go, ck! You sold your mailing list. Great move. What could one expect next from you.

    @Frenchie : you know me since last May... so you know how hard this has been. i'm glad i did not give up searching too! :O)

    @Hyde : it's never too late for a good thing :O)

    @Jonny : end of hedging is not that big a deal really. good thing is FOREX.COM is making sure that they take care of the micro-lot hedge traders... so PipForia's HGM is still usable although limited to some brokers. anyway, PIPforia is not a one-hit wonder. i'm sure you'll hear about their other offerings soon (shhh... this is insider information) :O)

    Well... it's finally here and it was imminent for quite some time.
    End of hedging starting May 15, 2009. I gues PIPforia's
    primary strategy will have to be reworked. This will effectively
    clean up the market. I am all for it.
